"Anyways, you need people of intelligence on this type of mission... quest... thing" I loved Pippin and Merry in the books, but I must admit, I love them even more in the movies!!! Billy Boyd & Dominic Monaghan were brilliant and hilarious duo. I like watching LOTR bonus disks over and over again just because these two are so funny
I know that my Peregrin doesn't look like Billy, but I'm still quite happy that I did draw him

AAAAw he's soooooo adorable
Well, I think it's not my place to give you pointers, since I'm still learning myself. Though, I can tell you some tips that I've found useful.
Firstly, always choose a high quality reference photo, then it's so much easier to draw + you can put more detail into the piece. Then use grid method to get the proportions exactly right. I usually use 4H or 3H for the skin. I add up to 4 layers of pencil and then I add a little bit softer pencil (it depends how dark the skin has to look).
For the hair I use 0,3mm mechanical pencil. Then I use 3H to color all the hair with it. After that I use my little eraser pencil to go over the hair. And then I do some more hair again with 0,3mm mechical pencil. It's a long process, but it's fun (at least for me)
As for the background, I sometimes use blending stick to get it very smooth.
I hope it helps. If you want to know anything else, let me know
